Wouldn’t it be great if someone could make a movie about our Sigma Chi experience? Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, for some) the cameras weren’t rolling during our days at The University of Wyoming. The experience we shared can only live on through our memories, stories and photos.
While we all shared the same great experience, we each have our own unique stories to tell from it. And we need your help to document them! Tell us a great story or two that you fondly remember from your undergraduate days. We’ll feature the best stories on our web site and in future print publications.
For example...
"After reading Tom Lockhart's story about the ASUW Presidency, I had somewhat of a parallel experience. My roommate for several semesters was John Maxfield, who was one year ahead of me. During the 1960-61 school year, John was a Student Senator from the Ag College and on the Senate Finance Committee. I was an accounting major and my advisor was the faculty advisor to the Senate Finance Committee. John and I had a mutual friend, Bob Grieve, a Phi Delt, who was the ASUW Business Manager for 1960-61. Both John and Bob told me that I needed to apply for the Business Manager position which happened to then pay $80.00 per month, $20.00 more than the ASUW President was paid. With all of those insiders working for me, I think you know the rest of the story. $80.00 for nine months paid for a lot more than house payments!!!! My Spring tuition for 1962, 17 hours, was $235.00. Not bad work when one can get it. Sigma Chi provided me a wonderful personal and leadership growth experience as I was also the IFC President for that same year." - Ronald "Pete" Peterson '62
